Two of the b-boys appearing at Elementz will be Jam Fu & Vanilla with b-girl sMash also performing.
The Battle competition on the night will offer £100 prize to the winner, open to all bboys and bgirls aged 18 or over
The throwdown takes place in Room 2 at The Rhythm Factory, 16 Whitechapel Road, London, E1 1EW (nearest tube Aldagate East) on Thursday 26th April 2012. Doors open at 8pm and the night goes through to 3am. Entry is £8.00, although tickets can be bought for £7 in advance via TicketWeb. Room 2 is hosted by DJ Snuff (End of the Weak / Speaker’s Corner)
Both Jam Fu and sMash are involved with London’s Scope Hip Hop Dance Theatre Company which was created in 2010 by Nefeli Tsiouti, visiting lecturer at Middlesex University. Scope involves dancers from the UK, USA, Vietnam, Australia and Cyprus, and they work with hip hop music as well as various other genres. Based in London, their dancers have performed at London’s “Big Dance” in 2010 and also collaborated with producer Jonzi D the same year and in 2011 as part of “Open Art Surgery”. Last year they took it overseas to perform at Athens’ 3rd International Street Theatre Festival, and as well as debuting at Elementz, they worked with London’s Dance Art Foundation, The Place and Iris Theatre, having again taken it overseas to Cyprus last year
