Genesis Elijah speaks on the launch of Elementz happening this Thursday at The Rhythm Factory, London

The launch of the first ever Elementz hip hop event takes place this Thursday at The Rhythm Factory, 16 – 18 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1EW

A new night celebrating the classic 4 elements, hip hop culture will be represented to full effect.

Main room will have live performances by Caxton Press, Genesis Elijah, Naba Napalm, Ether L Banks & hosted by Mystro

There will be dj sets by DJ Sarah Love, DJ 279 (Choice FM), DJ Mr Thing (Scratch Perverts / DMC) & DJ Snips (Livin Proof)

Room 2 is hosted by DJ Snuff (End of the Weak) and Johny Garcia, showcasing bboy battles, live graffiti & an open mic session.

The whole event will be filmed by the UK’s leading online platform The Hip Hop Chronicle for future broadcast

Its a massive night unlike anything around town right now, and as this is a quarterly event, you wont want to miss out on this one!!

Tickets are £8 on the door, dress code is casual but no tracksuits, and an 18 and over event. Nearest tube is Aldgate East

The line up for the first Elementz Hip Hop Event at The Rhythm Factory in London on 26th April 2012 includes 2 of UK Hip Hop’s most respected names in the game – Choice FM’s DJ 279 and West London MC Mystro

By chance, Mystro was in with Numbers on his Saturday night show last week helping to promote his new EP “What Type of Drug is Mystrogen” which you can download for free from www.mysdiggi.com

DJ 279, who you can hear every Saturday night from 10pm on CHOICE FM (96.9 / 107.1FM) and online HERE will be blessing us with the usual huge set of real hiphop bangers on the night in Room 1, alongside DJ Mr Thing, DJ Snips and DJ Sarah Love. Also performing in Room 1 are Caxton Press, Genesis Elijah, Naba Napalm, Ether L Banks, hosted by Mys Diggi

In Room 2, there will be an open mic session, live graff & a bboy / bgirl battle with the winner receiving a £100 cash prize, hosted by End of the Weak’s DJ Snuff alongside DJ Johny Garcia

BBoy / BGirl Battle Competition at Elementz London 26th April 2012

The first ever Elementz night launches at The Rhythm Factory, 16 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1EW on Thursday 26th April from 8pm – 3am

A new quarterly event celebrating the true essence of hip hop with the classic 4 elements – MCs, Turntablism, Bboys & BGirls and Graff represented to full effect.

Room 2 is hosted by DJ Snuff, renowned for the End of the Weak and Speaker’s Corner events and producer with Caxton Press, assisted by DJ Johny Garcia.

Here there will be on open mic session, live graff and the bboy / bgirl battle which will offer a £100 cash prize to the winner on the night

Included in those taking part will be Vanilla Killa, Jam Fu and sMash

Admission on the night is £8, although some tickets are available in advance via TicketWeb for £7

Any bboys, bgirls, street dancers in the area who are aged 18 and over are welcome to come down and compete. Dress code is casual, though the venue has a “no tracksuits policy”, otherwise, wide open. The entire event will also be covered exclusively by the UK’s leading online platform The Hip Hop Chronicle for future broadcast.

New Video Interview With Elementz Resident DJ Sarah Love

Resident Dj for the new Elementz club night representing the 4 elements of hip hop at Rhythm Factory on Thursday 26th April 2012 is Sarah Love.

Footsoldier of London’s renowned Kung Fu nights, ex MTV Base and BBC 1 Xtra presenter, Sarah was the official tour dj for Aloe Blacc’s UK dates in December 2011, and she returned recently from a month long series of dates in Australia.

She gave this mini video interview prior to performing at Rich Mix in London last week, and talks about what she’s been up to recently her plans for the year ahead.

There is a competition live now for b-boys and b-girls to perform at the event, the winner receiving a cash prize and will be interviewed by Elementz associate The hip Hop Chronicle.

Entrants should send a video of them performing – usually a Youtube link – by uploading it to the Facebook page www.facebook.com/elementzuk or sending it to info.elementzuk@gmail.com or tweeting the link to @ElementzUK We dont expect it to be a major production standard film, we’re more interested in the skills. So it can be off a phone, camera, whatever. Only one video per entrant, and make sure you include your contact details in an email to us.

This rare footage surfaced recently thanks to FlpiLife TV.

Taken at the end of November in 2010, it was during Genesis Elijah’s album launch with the Krate Krusaders for “Before I Was Famous”.

Though there were blizzard conditions outside The Gramaphone in London’s Shoreditch, there was a healthy turnout as the hiphop community gave its full support.

It was also good to see so many artists out supporting, and this cypher includes Genesis Elijah, Big Cakes, Logic, Terra, Ti2bs, Ruthless, Iron Braydz and a few other familar faces

Gen will be playing Room 1 at the launch of Elementz at Rhythm Factory, 16 – 18 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1EW on Thursday 26th April. Doors open at 8pm, night finishes 3am.

Also appearing are DJ Sarah Love, DJ 279, DJ Mr Thing, DJ Snips, Caxton Press, Naba Napalm, Ether L Banks & Mystro.

In room 2 there will be b-boy battles, live graff, open mic, all hosted by DJ Snuff with DJ Johny Garcia.

Live Graff at Elementz 26th April

London’s FDC will be showcasing some live graff at the launch of Elementz in Room 2 on 26th April at Rhythm Factory.

He’ll be producing some exclusive new designs on canvass and these will be available for sale on the night.

As the name suggest, the event represents all the classic elements of hip hop culture, providing a platform for talented artists in all the disciplines to shine.

Graff artists have made a major impact over the decades from album cover and hip hop clothing designs, through to the official current London Olympics logo. Our own logo was designed by The DR1NE. A highly skilled art form in its own right and worthy of its place on 26th April, where FDC will be joined in Room 2 by DJ Snuff, DJ Johny Garcia, a b-boy battle and open mic session.

Meanwhile in Room 1 there will be dj sets by Sarah Love, 279, Mr Thing, Snips, and performances by Caxton Press, Genesis Elijah, Ether L Banks, Naba Napalm, all hosted by Mystro.

ELEMENTZ LAUNCH NIGHT – 26TH APRIL – RHYTHM FACTORY LONDON

ELEMENTZ is a new club night celebrating the traditional elements of hip hop – deejaying & turntablism, MCs, graffiti, b-boys & b-girls, open mic, beatboxing – all knowledge under one roof.

Planned as a quarterly event taking place throughout the year, the launch night takes place at Rhythm Factory, London on Thursday 26th April 2012.

Each event will host some of the biggest established names on the scene, while also showcasing new emerging talent and representing hip hop culture in all its forms.
Since the early days of the block parties in New York’s Bronx, hip hop has become a global phenomenon. A culture which has developed over the years representing all people irrespective of ethnic background, nationality, gender or religion.

While Hip Hop Music has gone on to become a multi billion selling industry over the years, and has fragmented into various genres, the real spirit of hip hop culture remains within the various elements, practiced by those with an understanding of its principles.

The events will reflect the true meaning of hip hop and takes it back to its roots – at its best live with all elements in full effect

Resident DJ is London’s “1st Lady of Hip Hop” Sarah Love, recognized from her days performing at the city’s renowned Kung Fu events through to her time presenting for MTV Base, BBC 1Xtra and being the only female dj to be nominated twice as “Best DJ” for a MOBO award.

The events are in association with leading online media outlet The Hip Hop Chronicle. While covering the major stories from the UK and overseas, HHC have provided exclusive footage broadcast on BET, MTV and many others. HHC will film performances and interviews to be broadcast online in the weeks following each event.

We are joined on the 26th April by some real legends in the UK scene.

DJ 279 is one of the most respected hip hop dj’s in the game. Known for his long running “Friday Night Flavas” show on Choice FM, he is still representing the illest international sounds on his new Saturday night show.

DJ Mr Thing, original Scratch Pervert, in 1999 won the World DMC DJ Team Championships in New York & was an individual finalist in the UK Championships in 2000. Also a respected producer, particularly well known for his work with Yungun.

London’s DJ Snips has deejayed for Mos Def, Kanye West, Ghostface, Pete Rock, been a regular in London’s extensive club scene as well as the dj of choice for several industry parties including Talib Kweli, Pharaoh Monch, Dead Prez, all before holding down a residency in 2009 in New York. Still running the Livin Proof nights in London.

THERE WILL BE LIVE PERFORMANCES ON THE NIGHT BY:

Caxton Press have been busy in 2012 releasing a series of videos taken from their new album Shame The Devil. The group includes DJ Snuff, well known for his End of the Weak and Speakers Corner nights he created with fellow group member Manage, and the North West Rider himself, Kingpin. Together with eMCee Killa and Amy True, the group will be performing some choice cuts from the new album which will go down well with fans of true school hip hop & soul.

Genesis Elijah has been one of the most consistent artists in the past year, first via his collaboration with Krate Krusaders on “Before I Was Famous” and then via a huge number of video releases over the past year, culminating in his “I Aint Even Charging Bruv” and “Painkillers & Pilkington” EPs out now and receiving Radio 1 support.

The night is hosted by Mystro. A firm favourite of UK heads, his annual UK Rap Up on BBC 1Xtra has become a new Xmas tradition. He has just launched his new “What Kind of Drug is Mystrogen” EP currently enjoying heavy support on the airwaves, coming ahead of his new album due out later in the year.

Also look out for performances from “Ones To Watch” Naba Napalm and Ether L Banks.

Room 2, which will be hosted by DJ Snuff and DJ Johny Garcia, will showcase b-boy battles, live graff and have an open mic session running simultaneously. DJ Snuff has been long time in the game, deejaying at the renowned Deal Real store, founder of Speaker’s Corner & the international hiphop community that is End of the Weak. Co-founded The People’s Army with Lowkey & Logic and tore up sets with Snoop Dogg, Afrika Bambaataa, Immortal Technique, Dead Prez & Akala. In addition to being scratch dj with the Congo Natty live band, he is now busy as producer for Caxton Press
